ALERT: HARDCORE MEXICANFOODPORN!!!!
Carne Asada: Bistec a la parrilla, nopales, cebollitas de cambray, chorizo y salchichas para asar.
Bistec steak, grilled cactus, grilled onions (cambray), chorizo and grilling sausages.
Carne Asada means more than “grilled meat” in Mexico. Carne asada as I have explained in other occasions is a social event. What I love about the world of food is that it gathers people, to share and discuss stories through the act of simply cooking.
Carnes asadas are very popular throughout the country, however they can take an almost “religious” level in Northern Mexico. People for example in the city of Monterrey will find more appealing to have a carne asada on a Saturday night with endless beers and a group of hungry friends rather than dance to some repetitive whiny song at a bar.
To be able to cook something good and realize people like it is one of the most rewarding things to me. No, I am no former Chef like Anthony Bourdain, but I believe that a meal well cooked is worth of bragging (you better make it a very good meal before bragging though)
